Circumcised?? or not??
By daniklic 1 Month, 3 Weeks Ago
Recently I have thought of whether it is necessary to have my baby boy circumcised. I am really not sure. So I asked my mom, and she was totally rejecting the idea because she thinks it's brutal to make a cut on a tiny new born baby. And then I asked my boyfriend, and he said every boy gets circumcised.

So here is the question for all moms with sons:

Does every boy get circumcised? When is it usually done? Will doctor advise you to do it or not?

Thanks ahead!

I think circumcision is wrong and primitive.

First of all, the baby boy never consented to it.

Second of all, its extremely painful. http://www.circumcision.org/response.htm

Third of all, its completely unnecessary!

People used to do it a long, long time ago because the conditions back then did not allow people to have good hygiene. They were unable to wash themselves as often as needed and were unable to clean their genitals. For that reason, infection was common for men as dirt would get trapped under their foreskin.

These days, showers are very accessible and the current conditions permit us to live very clean lifestyles. I think some people forget we are living in year 2008.

My son is not circumcised and he is just fine. Never in his 5 years of life has he encountered any problems due to not being circumcised.

We went by the old standard, do as Daddy did, so both our boys are. The doctor numbed them so there is no pain. Alot of sleeping boys don't even wake up. Ask at the hospital if you're not sure of their policy. Our pediatrician suggested that the hospital staff doctor do it because they do it everyday and he doesn't. My younger son does seem to have less scarring than the older one.

My sister-in-law didn't have her boys done. She said that as they get older, they will have to be taught very good hygene. Think about the locker room situation. If its common in your area to get it done, they may feel self-conscious in this situation when teens.

I never thought it was necessary,
But my dad wasnt circumcised when he was young.
He just turned 40.. and got an infection that had
something to do with not being circumcised...
Gross.. i know. Well..
He had to go get it.. "taken care of"..
Because of his age and the infection it
became a major procedure..
It was the worst experience he said he's
ever had. I remember him being in so much
pain.

I think..
If you teach your son how to pull the
skin back and clean it properly..
There may never be a problem.

Then again i think the reason my dad
had a problem wasnt because of not showering
every night.. (Although he is allergic to
some soaps.. which may of also dabbled in the
situation) but i think it was
because of his active lifestyle...
both in the bedroom and out in the world...
he sweats all day long and combined the constant
sexual activity it might of started to
irritate the skin.. -shrugs- i dont have
a penis.. i dont know..

I dont really want to.. but..
If i have a boy, i'm going to really consider
having him circumcised...
I wouldn't want to take the risk of what happen
to my father ever happening to my son...
