Both of my babies have a terrible cold and maybe an ear infection! I hate seeing them sick and their still so little so it's still dangerous. I got my wisdom teeth out so im not much help and my poor boyfriend has them. The only thing i have been doing is breastfeeding them but it's hard when they have a cold, I will be taking them to the doctors tomorrow so hopefully it's nothing serious but im just really scared. Wish us luck!

my little brother used to constantly get ear infections...it was really awful. i hope your little girls get better!

I know it's hard when they're sick, but remember most ear infections are viral and antibiotics will do nothing to help (even though docs still prescribe them). There are a lot of natural things you can do to help with the pain, though. You can make your own garlic mullein oil, or you can buy it at a natural food store, it's a natural antibiotic/anti-inflammatory/pain reliever and works amazingly well. Breastfeeding is awesome, it helps prevent colds and ear infections, and make sure than you aren't exposing them to second hand smoke (even smoking outside then coming in with the scent on your clothes increases the risk of ear infections). I'm sure the doctor will suggest it but you can get infant saline drops for their noses. Use them along with a nose sucker and it will help. Also do not put vapor rub directly on their skin anywhere. Apparently if enough is absorbed into an infants skin it can be toxic, and some children can have allergic reactions to it. A humidifier or steamy bathroom can work wonders as well. Good luck
