I have to agree with Celianne this is the strangest post I've ever read.

However pertaining to the actual topic, my parents didn't let us date while we were in highschool. They may have been a bit old fashion but I thank them for it. I was a virgin til I was 18 and I'm proud of that. Although even in my opinion 18 is too young, but that's aside from the point. I thank my mom everyday for how strict she raised me because I turned out a better person for it. Now I'm 22 engaged, have a career with the military, and my own home. It's your decision obviously and this is just my opinion, but I definately think 14 is too young to be dating and definately too young to be having sex. My soon to be sister in law is 15 and the thought of her dating and having sex makes me cringe. Actually I think I would lay out beats to any boy who even looked at her like that. But again just my opinion.

i think 14 is to young to be having sex, so i think 12 is waaay to young
you may have enjoyed it and you may not have regrets but you were still a child, not even a teenager yet... thats your innocence gone, and you were old enough to have sex, which is all well and good but if that sex had resulted in pregnancy you would not have been old enough mentally or physically to deal with the baby that would come from it..

thats just my opinion,
i think 14 is a good age to be dating and i was dating the same guy then that i am now ( I'm 17) and he is about to be the father of by baby i only told him today but he took it well, we didn't have sex till i was 15, i wish we had waited even another year though I'm glad i didn't fall pregnant then, i wish i hadn't now..

Jamesbond is reported.

To answer your question, I think it is your choice. It depends on the maturity of your daughter and the maturity of her boyfriends/guys she goes on dates with.

You could also say yes to group dates and no to single dates. :)

I completely agree. I'm 14 & honestly i'm probably more mature than a lot of 14 year olds & i'm not sure i'm ready to date yet. But as Emily said it's you choice.

Seriously guys i'm pretty sure the Annie girl & the Jamesbond person are the same. Probably a banned user wanting attention.

omygoodness what is WRONG over here!!! i don't like to poke my nose in this kind of thing but all Lynette wanted was for some advice and why did it become a hooking place?

I'm SOOO sorry Lynette, don't feel bad about asking this question in the first place.

Anyway, i'm 17, am not married and never had a bf. It would be cool to have one, but i haven't met 'the one' yet. So if your daughter does find what she thinks is her match, i think you should just let her be, let her be able to tell you that she has a boyfriend and get her into the feeling she would treat you like a best friend and tell you all the little 'sweet things' her bf did for her(such as singing to her, or he took her to a movie..). I know it would be a shock if she would have sex with that guy, but everyone would have to have their first time, be it 'young' or 'old'. Just make sure that she does it safely. and also make sure she's comfortable telling you all these stuff. Because if worse comes to worse, she gets pregnant, i'm sure even though you might be disappointed or mad at her, you would still want to be there for her, and try to help her in any way possible.

so i say let it slide. Let her have a little freedom to discover love. Only then she can love you back.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!! and take care!!! please don't feel bad ok
