So much for a happy familly. Advice? By mominmarch 2 Years, 3 Months Ago So I have the worst ex boyfriend in the world. I was over at my parent's house. We were all hanging out talking and out of nowhere I hear him yelling. So I walked outside.. he kept saying.. "I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it." I told him to leave. He then decided it'd be a great idea to throw a rock through my windshield. I can't drive my car, so it's now sitting in a repair shop. He told me that he wants nothing to do with us. Which is fine by me. He obviously has some mental issues. I don't want my daughter around him. My parents think it would be a good idea to go after him for child support. After his stunt today.. I don't care too. I can support my daughter and myself without his help. He will be paying for the damages he's done to my car. Now onto my questions. What if he decides to be a jerk and try to take her from me?

Re:So much for a happy familly. Advice? By MomOfMikahleanAndAkaisha. 2 Years, 3 Months Ago I'm pretty sure someone like him wouldn't be able to get custody of your daughter. I'd like to see him try. He sounds a bit insane...

Re:So much for a happy familly. Advice? By lacieghbaby 2 Years, 3 Months Ago well;
they normally won't give a guy with anger problems like that custody of a kid, unless they find you unfit, and from what i know your perfectly fine with the baby. just keep your head up and get ready to raise your beautiful baby without a jerk like him<33

Re:So much for a happy familly. Advice? By jellybean123 2 Years, 3 Months Ago since he's already shown some hostility towards you, you could go forward and get a restraining order. just so that you have on record how crazy he's been if it does come down to a custody battle.
even without the restraining order it would be pretty hard for him to get full custody of your child unless there's some reason he feels your unfit and can prove it. even though i don't doubt that you can take care of your child without his help i still think you should get some child support out of him. thats his responsibility too!! hope everything turns out well!!

Re:So much for a happy familly. Advice? By NeedMiddleNames 2 Years, 3 Months Ago They don't usually take a child off their mother unless she has serious issues so deeming that you don't you have pretty high chances of keeping your daughter even if your boyfriend wasn't a little bit psychotic. I hope you and your daughter are well!

QUOTE: Yeah, that's true it is his responsibility as well. My friend and I talked about what my options were. She thinks it'd be best if I did go through with the child support. I was also told it would be a good idea to leave his name off of the birth certificate. So he couldn't have any rights at all? But wouldn't I get in trouble if he took me to court and proved she is his?
