Boys are older with potty training. The only one you are going to train at that age is yourself, not him. I would not suggest trying until he is 2 1/2, that seems to be the "normal" age. That is why I say to have your children 3-4 year apart. Then you don't have both children in diapers for very long or at all. Also, the older child understands potty training, plus he/she knows how to help with a new baby (bring you a diaper, Kleenex, bottle) and understands better. Before 3 years old, the older child is still a baby, too. However, with you already pregnant---it looks like you will have two babies in diapers at the same time. Good luck!!!

I would definitely not suggest potty training until your son is 2. My cousin is 15 months and I can't even imagine her being potty trained! My other two cousins were potty trained about this age, and they turned out great! Haha

I am perplexed this question was asked! I don't think it would even be possible to even slightly potty train at 7mon old. Don't worry! Life will be busy, for sure, but good---even with two sweet little ones in diapers! Just plan in your mind that that's how it will be for a while, and, it won't last forever. Congratulations!

I suggest that you read a few articles on elimination communication (EC) and see if the patterns you need to follow to be successful would work for your lifestyle.

I dont think 7 months is too young to start-but be careful how you approach and what you think the result should be.

I think kids will learn anything presented to them and that parents should set their expectations within reason of their child's age and skill level. (if you do try to potty train him super early, expect a longer learning process, more demands of your teaching skills and patience levels as well as more accidents).

Keep us posted on what you decide to do-

It depends, how regular is the kid? I was potty trained at a very young age because my mom said she could set her clock by my poo's. By the time I was 6 months old, she would take me in at 4pm and hold me over the pot and I would go every day at 4. My older sister was so grossed out by my dirty business when I was 9 month old that she took it upon herself to potty train me completely. She was 4. I was walking and talking by that time, though, and that makes a lot of difference.

I don't believe it's too young, I basically potty trained myself at 9 months because I wanted to wear "big girl panties". Some parents choose to do elimination communication, often from newborn or 3 months. You probably still could at 7 months.
