By injesuschristalone 7 Months, 3 Weeks Ago One of my friends has 6 kids, and she homeschools. All her children are at least 1 year ahead in most of their classes and all smarter than an average kid their age. Also in College they were much more prepared to do work on thier own. The never leaned on anyone for help. They did all their work by themselves, thier mom only telling them what to do and now all 4 that are out of college have decided to homeschool their kids, one of them already following through with it! They have always been full of common-sense and been smarter than most other kids. Also, school situations like shootings, rape, bullys and evlution were not a problem for them. They were not niave in any means, they knew just as much about it as anyone at a public school, but they had never experienced any of it.

By jnaos 7 Months, 2 Weeks Ago We are sending our kids to Charter School. I think if you are looking for smaller class sizes and more one on one this is the way to go. Our school district is a great school but the class sizes and the school itself are way too big. I think that many homeschool children are isolated and have problems with sicial skills later on. With that being said it would be really important to find things that involve other kids.. girl/boy scouts, dance, etc

Re:Homeschool, public, private?! By CKA 7 Months, 2 Weeks Ago There is a ton of information on homeschooling that you can get your hands on. I went to college w/a mom who homeschooled her 5 children and she was great at it, but it took her ENTIRE life over. She also said she would not have done it with only one child, but thought having 5 children was beneficial because they learned a lot from each other. She also had her children participating in sports, activities and field trips with other homeschooled children through a homeschooling network in our area. I live in central Wisconsin and homeschooling is quite popular here. This mom actually did a report on homeschooling and told us that research shows that children who are homeschooled until highschool and then attend public or private schools, actually excel both academically and socially.
