You should talk to your son privately, never mind Kate, that's her own personal choice and that would be extremely embarrassing for her. But definetely talk with him, it could be to the point where Kate could get pregnant so talk with him ASAP!

perhaps it's due to the fact that i am younger than most on this website (23), but how many of us would have wanted our parents coming to us and telling us what they caught us doing? i am a firm believer that some things are better left unsaid. i also feel that telling him wouldn't deter him from having sex, just from having sex while mom and dad are around.

I don't think anyone else asked this, but what was your reaction to the discovery?? This isn't like walking in to catch an older friend or relative going at it, where it only ends up being amusing or embarrassing. This is a child and an impulsive teenager at that. How you reacted is what he remembers and will influence his decision to press his luck in future.

If you berated them or broke things up in a more calm manner, he (and her too) will most likely be too nervous about the risk of doing it there again. If you went "oops, sorry" or left angrily, they will probably think it's a laughing matter and feel it's fine to repeat the act when they think you're out of the way.

A few people have said you can't stop teenagers having sex, but you can certainly stop them from conducting it at home where you're partly responsible for it. If this girls ends up pregnant, people engaged in the rumor mill are going to be saying "well, the so-and-so kid is the father and he clearly doesn't have decent parents if they allow that sort of thing to happen at home." I wouldn't want this sort of thing reflecting badly on me.

I know someone this happened to, and the father of the girl broke it up right then. He and his daughter had a long talk and from then on, it didn't happen again.

im sorry i no it must have been terrible to walk in on your son but just accept that hes sexually active and theres nothing that you can do about it. sit him down and have a talk with him if you want but i can it really wont make a difference he'l just be more careful next time.

just accept that your little boy has grown up. i lot of people on here have said that it was wrong that he did it in your house while you were there but if he didnt do it a yours just think of the other places he would have been doing it
