Chessecake Opinion By Granny Nora 6 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Hi guys, I thought who better than to ask opinions on cheesecakes than mothers!
I am thinking about selling my Cheesecakes. I am doing a ton of research about marketing, shipping, and types of chessecake. Can I ask you for some feedback? 1. Which kind of cheesecake do you like? I make a baked cheesecake, and there are two variety's, a creamy one or a drier one. Which do you prefer? 2. Do you like plain, or the choice of a fruit on top. If I did ship fruited cheesecakes I would make the organic fresh fruit topping and place them in a separate container to be placed on the cheesecake just before serving. a. Strawberry b. Raspberry c. blueberry d. a then caramel with nuts 3. I also want to offer flavors of cheesecake, not too many. Maybe a 1. Chocolate marble? or 2. Choclate chip? 3. Pumpkin? or pumpkin swirl 4. Coffee? 5. Plain I really don't want to offer more than four different chessecakes because I am planning on offering toppings that are homemade and frozen. My family is very positive that I can do this, I have a reputation of bringing cheesecake to family dinners and functions. They are always a winner. Any feedback and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

By LifeIsGood 6 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Hi Granny Nora. How's your Mother's Day been so far?
I think starting a business is hard work, but as long as you're determined, everything will go smoothly. Here's my answers to each of your questions. 1.I like creamy cheescakes. It makes them seem more like desserts. Making baked cheescakes are a good idea too. Everybody I know loves baked cheescake. 2.The caramel with nuts sounds divine! That's a really cool idea. It's also good that you'll pacakge the fruit seperately to keep it fresh. Yolu should vacuum seal the cups too. And with the question about the fruit, I like fruit on cheesecake. Espescially strawberry. 3.Pumpkin swirl and chcolate chip sound delicous! I really like all your flavor choices though. Plain is always good to have as an option for people who only like that. I also have a couple of questions. What would you call your cheesecake business? Would it's adress be at your own residence? Are you planning to make businees cards or any other type of advertising? If you need any help for any sort of ideas, I'll be here and gladly help. Please do keep us all posted!

By LifeIsGood 6 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Sorry about my mumerous spelling mistakes. I'm able to type fast, so sometimes I go too fast and mess up my words. I hope you know what I mean when I spell, chocolate, "choclate". And package, "pacakge" and etc.
Sorry for the type-o's!

Re:Chessecake Opinion By happy2bme 6 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Mmmmm....reading your post makes me crave cheesecake right now!!!
They all sound good. I like the strawberry, rasberry, and carmel/nuts toppings best. And I like chocolate marble, plain, and chocolate chip. I just like chocolate anyway! I think making a variety of cheesecakes would be good- you could get more business since different people like different kinds and would have more to choose from. You could have a menu that people could order from; people could buy your cheesecakes for parties and such.

Re:Chessecake Opinion By Granny Nora 6 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Thank you Lifeisgood, happy2bme, and smoochie. I am in the early stages of this plan. I have been wanting to do this for years and years and never verbally told anyone even my husband. I talked it over with him and told him I was starting a business plan in my spare time, (I left my job last August because I was just done working for the corp that owned the medical practice I worked for.) I will be one of my daughter's part time day care provider and the other daughter is due Nov. 7 and after her leave I will be the full time day care provider. Or happy grammy as I like to call it. If I could I would honestly still have more children. I am only 46. But now it is my children's time! But back to cheesecake. I will be going to high end Rest. in a 50 mile radius with samples and cheesecakes for them to try. I am working on how to ship and package,I have figured out I can ship next day air with dry ice. And I am hoping to have a web site. My son is 26 and does a fine job at web site creation. I was thinking of going on Craig's List with a linck to my web site when it is done. I am a long way from opening. I will start in my kitchen or one of my daughter's depending on where I am watching the grandchildren. And go from there. Someday a store front with a small kitchen would be divine, but I live in a very very I repeat very small town. A large city is 50 miles away. So driving with these gas prices ought to be fun. I live in the upper thumb of Michigan. But it is a dream, and I have raised my children to be strong independent souls, and now it is my time - right? But don't get me wrong I won't leave the grandchildren unless the kids want me to. My husband and I don't believe in day care centers. It is just our opinons and I don't say that to hurt anyone's feelings, but we worked hard as a young couple of 20 to allow me to stay home with our children until the last one was in junior high. It was ideal, but I see now how the economy is and in all reality my girls have to work, one carries the insurance for the family. So that is why I will be here for them as long as they need me. I think that I can create my chessecake business while watching the litle one's. In fact I know I can!!
One more question, What should I call the business? I am not ready to get the business license or anything. I am just curious what you think? This forum is wonderful. I wish I would of had it when I was a young married woman starting my journey of having a family. Thanks again, Granny Nora
