Tell her! I was 9 when my mom told me and I don't think there is anything wrong with it, it's just how we reproduce. Tell her alone in her bedroom or something were she will be more relaxed and be able to talk better. It's no use trying to keep it from her, she's going to find out one way or another. The way my parents explained puberty/sex to me was that my dad handeld the emotional changes and my mom told me about the bodily changes. My mom didn't hesitate so I thought if she could talk openely about it, so could I. I'm ten now and believe you should do it. Not for just you sake, but for hers. I mean what is she going to do if someone says "Drinking bleach can help you not get pregnant!" and so she thinks you get pregnant for god knows what and then drinks it? You should also explain what STD's are and to warn her not to drink blach, or do something stupid weekly. It helps remind me and I feel smart knowing that If someone believes the bleach dude, I know I wont!

I took my daughter out one evening and we had a nice dinner (which dosent occur very often because she has 6- and 3 on the way-other brothers and sisters) That time alone was very special. She had heard some crazy stories at school but we got everything straight. I also had a talk with her youth pastor and he agreed with happy2bme! (thanks! ) She is my oldest daughter, and I am only thirty so I was having some trouble on what to do. But, now I will feel more confident with the following children. I also learned that when I take the children aside and talk to them they relly open up and they can feel free to talk about school, friends, anything thats bothering them. So I set aside 2 hours a week for each of my children (I used to set aside 1 hour) and so far it has gone really well and I have learned a lot.

I learned about sex when I was 9 years old from my friends. I didn't actually talk to my mom about it until I was about 11. It felt very awkward for me, since she didn't really know that I knew about it. Talk to her about it while she is still young, and make sure she doesn't get weirded out by it - you could break a bond you two have! Here's how I would start: Like all the cheesy movies, say "When a mommy and a daddy love each other very much . . ." MAKE SURE YOU SAY A MOM/DAD, not just girl/boy or woman/man!! But try to explain it in a simple way that's not too gross . . .

I think maybe you should wait a little while...Pretty soon she'll learn it in school but if you really think it's a good idea to teach her get her a book on it and if she doesn't want it just wait and see until she learns it in school.

she is not to young in school here they teach it in 5th grade. i talked to my son about it when he was seven. There are age appropriate ways to do it. go to your library and go to the children section. They will have something suitable to understand what she needs to know at her age.It is best to have the start of it come from the parent. there is way to much going on in the world these days to let them find out in ways you dont want them to no matter how much you think you know them.. educate her appropriatly.
