hi I am back.
on last sunday my son tried to commit suicide and it really took me by surprise he's now in a crisis program, it shook the whole family up and everyone was acting funny. then my water cooler leaked and through to my basement it was crazy. Than on Tuesday I had a total panic attack and was hospitilzed. Everyone's back home from staying with my sister and they want to know what happend with Jamie and I really don't know how to tell my 11 and 9 yearold this lightly, they really don't undersstand the concept of suicide.

Wow, that's really scary, I hope your son will be okay. I know that it can be hard explaining death and suicide to younger children, my husband's brother attempted suicide last year when my daughter was only one year old, and so she still doesn't really know what's happened, but I'll explain it to her when she's a bit older...

I'm very sorry to hear about everything thats been going on with your family. It really is a lot to take in for everyone. I hope everyone will be ok especially your son.

I wouldnt even know where to begin trying to explain what happened with our other children. But i do have a suggestion. Considering the gravity of the issue at hand it may be wise to seek out professional help. Try your doctor first. See if he or she has any suggestions or literature for you. If they dont they can recommend someone who can help you. Going this route is probably best for your children and yourself even. You might all benefit from some counciling. The councilling can help you all work through your feelings and help to answer the childrens questions. I dont think this is an issue you would want to risk taking to lightly. Best to bring in the professional and find you didnt need their help then to not do it and wish you had down the line when other problems arise. But thats just my opinion, maybe im wrong, not having been through your traumatic situation i cannot even begin to put mself in your place. You know your family and whats best for them. well my children understand death because my brother and his wife were in car accident last year they were hit by a drunk driver and my brother was in a comba for 6 weeks and than they unplugged him, so they understand that, but they don't get the concept of taking someone's own life. Jamie is in a program called CRISIS it's for people who tried to commit suicide and it's an intensive 2 week program.
