how do i tell them?
By uhoh6boys 3 Years, 8 Months Ago
I have 6 boys. 4 are adopted and 2 are biological.

brayden- 4, adopted
declan- 7, biological
bowden- 2, biological
Ekon- 6, adopted
Tai- 1, adopted
killian- 12, adopted

How do i tell them they are adopted? Also ow do i tell my biological sons their brothers are adopted? Killian already knows he found out on his own and he was very mad i didnt tell him myself.

How do i tell them though...are they old enough?

well i would def sit them all down 2getha and make it a special event. idk maybe bake cookies and have milk while you all talk. Explain to everyone that they are all loved very much and that each of them is special in there own way maybe have a list of things on hand. I'm not sure what your situation was and your reasoning for adopting them all but thats what i would tell them. Especially make sure they know that they are all equal and loved. i think the only one who might not understand at first is the 1 yr old but at least he will be brought up around it and will know this is my mommy but not the mommy i came out of.

Hello!
Well, you knew this day would come. You can't keep this a secret forever. I agree with mommy2be123. Make it a special event. Start about by saying you love them all, and knew that this day would come when you'd have to tell them that Killian, Ekon, Brayden, and Tai are adopted. Explain to them that you decided you wanted to adopt four amazing children, and the four of them were the ones. Use simple words, since most of them are fairly young, and be loving and answer questions that they might have. Most of them are pretty young but it's never too young to let them know. Chances are they won't be mad at you - not forever, and it's better to tell them earlier. Give them hugs and kisses, and tell them how much you love them all. But telling them seperately may be better. If you do that, pick the right time, and do it the same way you would if they were all gathered together. Hope this helps, good luck, and make sure to tell us all how it goes!

Hello, my aunt also adopted children, and what she did is they have one day a year (the same day every year) that they call 'adoption day' they have cake and presents and celebrate that they're a family... at first the kids didn't understand and just thought it was cool to get gifts, but after time they started asking questions and it was an opener so she could explain that they came out of a different mommy, but that she had so much love for them that she made them part of the fmaily....

I think you should tell your children that the biological children were born from mommy, and the adopted were born from the heart

I was adopted myself. Although my mom didnt tell me the "proper way" and didnt tell me until I was 14, I would have rather her tell me the way mommy2be123 suggested. Although some of them are too young to understand right yet, you should make it an annual event. My mom told me that I was special because she got to choose me.
