By mommy2be123 3 Months, 2 Weeks Ago Ok well my friend just had her baby and she told me that when you heat formula in the plastic baby bottles that it could cause autism? So she went out and bought glass bottles. Has anyone heard of this before? I'm due saturday and i have some glass but not as many as plastic so does anyone know if this is true or not?? J/W

Re:Has any1 heard that plastic bottles cause autis By aliciasabrina 3 Months, 2 Weeks Ago Autism is a neurological disorder that despite a plethora of research the aetiology or cause of which is largely unknown. I have heard about brain damage, maternal illness during pregnancy, infections etc... as potential causes but never plastic bottles. I think once you sterilize any bottle plastic or glass before each usage the risk of your child developing anything you can prevent.
Also just a note.. make sure that the plastic is durable enough to be heated Hope this helps.. Good luck Last Edit: 2008/07/01 21:51 By aliciasabrina.

Re:Has any1 heard that plastic bottles cause autis By Granny Nora 3 Months, 2 Weeks Ago No I have never heard that. However Babies R Us carry a brand of plastic bottles called "Born Free" There is no Bisphenol-A in the plastic. Maybe you could research it on the web. I would love to know what you find out.

Re:Has any1 heard that plastic bottles cause autis By mommy2be123 3 Months, 2 Weeks Ago i couldnt find anything on the web about autism and plastic bottles. but wat i did find is that plastic bottles release something called BPA and they do sell bottles with out this and obviously glass bottles. i guess you shouldnt heat these bottles they put a certain amount of BPA into the formula but i guess it isnt a whole lot. but u can get BPA if you put like plastic containers in th microwave like tupperware so u shouldnt put anything plastic in there.

By belly 3 Months, 2 Weeks Ago The FDA says that baby bottles are safe, but others say they're not. Here's an article about it

By puck 3 Months, 2 Weeks Ago plastic bottles containing bpa are suspected to cause some strange things like early onset puberty. but nothing, not bottles, immunizations, nothing can actually cause autism. a small precentage of autism cases are triggered by these things in an already compromised immune system. i heard that too, and since there are several cases of autism and aspergers in my family, i research these things to death. bpa bottles have been banned from stores in canada, im not sure about the usa. there are several kinds of bpa-free bottles available now. im using them just to be safe. my daughter has aspergers so im not risking anything with this baby.
