baby walkers - to buy or not to buy?
By Florida 3 Months, 3 Weeks Ago
Many of you probably heard the warnings regarding baby walkers - do you use them - hate them / love them? Just curious.

i don't personally LOVE walkers but my daughter enjoyed it for a few months and was just tired of it. i mean, i guess they're okay to use but just make sure you watch your little one while he/she plays in it. i never let my daughter out of my sight and i would close off any entrances so that she was restricted to one area.

My pediatrition strongly recommended against walkers so we opted for a saucer instead. It worked ok. We mainly used it to occupy during showers and kitchen time otherwise she was on the floor.

I agree with CariannDS. We used a saucer for when I was in the shower or in the kitchen. I went with my cousin to her baby's doctor visit a couple of weeks ago, and he was saying not to use a walker. He said he has seen too many accidents because babies can get into things and get hurt before you know it. He has seen falls, and one baby got over to the plug in and got burned from it. My nephew fell out the back door and down the steps when he was in one; he was so fast and he did it before his mom turned around to catch him.

I had a walker but never really used it he didnt really know what to do I also had a bouncer (like a saucer but different) when we first gor it he loved it cus he liked to bounce but I didnt put him in it alot mainly just to cook. Then when he was 9 months old he thought he was to old for it. But I never really did put him in those things and when I did it was for to long cus he rather play and learned to crawl. my cousins baby who is the same age always had her baby in things like that and because of it she never really got to learn how to meet her important milestones and also because she never let her play on the floor she never learned how to crawl and it took her forever to sit on her own like 11months plus
