Im on the shot and have been for about a year now but I wanted to know if there were anyone else who are on or have ever been on it because I was just curious if and when you got off of it how long did it take you to get pregnant again? Also if you have been on it did you ever gain weight on it and is that common. I havent gained weight from it but I just got done nursing my son for a year so I think that might be what kept me from gaining weight from the shot but I dont know I dont even know if its true that you gain weight from it.
And anything you need to share with me about it would be great too. Thanks in advance!

we were told it would take 3 months to get pregnant once off the shot, so i was off it in october, were were planning to get pregnant in december, but we ended up pregnant first try and had a july baby, kinda sad cuz my hubby wanted a baby on his birthday in september(him and his dad share a birthday). but yeah if you have a specific time planned make sure to use some sort of protection til your ready.

I did not gain weight on the shot and i was on it for 5 years once i came off the shot it took me 6 months to have a period got pregnant first month i had one.

My cousin is on that and she has actually lost weight. She gets 4 periods a year, but she's not trying to ever get pregnant again so I'm not sure how that goes. I would think it would be hard to get pregnant again because its such a strong shot. But ask your doc.

I WAS ON THE SHOT FOR ABOUT 9 MONTHS AND I GAINED ABOUT 25 LBS ON IT. I GOT OFF IT BECAUSE I DIDN'T LIKE IT. I WAS DUE TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE AT THE END OF JUNE AND DIDN'T GET IT AND I WAS PREGGO IN OCT. BUT WE DIDN'T START TRYING TILL END OF AUGUST SO WE ONLY TRIED FOR 2 MONTHS BUT HAD BEEN OFF SHOT FOR 4 MONTHS. THE DOCTORS SAY THAT IT WILL TAKE ANY WHERE FROM 12-18 MONTHS BUT IT HAPPENS SOONER FOR ALOT OF PEOPLE SO YOU NEVER KNOW. BUT WHAT I DID WAS TELL MYSELF OK IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST A YEAR AND MAKE YOURSELF OK WITH THAT SO YOU WON'T GET DOWN ON IF IT DOES TAKE THAT LONG. AND IF IT DOESN'T THEN YOU CAN BE PLEASENTLY SURPRISED!! GOOD LUCK

momoftwoboys... may I ask why you didnt like it? I do like it but it is a pain to find time to get it done every three months.
Its nice to know that there is a chance that it wont take a year to get pregnant again when we are ready.
