My daughter is being teased at school because of her name. When my daughter was born ten years ago I named her Miley Rae Hannah, which now is very very similar to the actor and character on the popular tv show Hannah Montana. I called her this name for significant family reasons but now she is being teased by kids at school who say she copied the actor Miley Cyrus's name. How should i handel this situation with her? Help! please!

well it needs to be explained that the actor wasnt popular or even acting at the time that you named her and explain the meaning of her name and how important that name was to you. In fact she should feel special cus a famous person has her name too! I got teased to cus my name is melissa and when I was in school sabrina the teenaged witch was very popular at the time and her real name was also melissa I cant think of her last name but anyway people kept saying that I was a witch just because we had the same name.

Little kids can be so mean. I would just tell her to wait it out. They'll be on to teasing someone else next week.

Your daughter can also simpley explain the Miley Ray Cyrus was born Faith Hope Cyrus and her "nickname" growing up was smiley Miley. SOOO..your daughter did in fact have her name first because Faith Hope Cyrus only legally became Miley Ray Cyrus earlier this year.
