Bathtime Question
By happy2bme 2 Months Ago
I was just wondering at what point do you start using regular bar soap on your child? My son is 22 months, and I am still using the Johnson's Baby Wash and shampoo. This is fine with me because I would rather continue using the baby wash for awhile longer, I love the smell; but I was just wondering when it is okay to start using other soap on him.

i started using bar type soaps on my kids at around 18 mths, but i made sure it was moisturizing and for sensitive skin... some bars really dry out babies skin so be very picky in what u chose, .

like momof2boys... said the johnson doesnt hurt there eyes. but it also depends if your childs skin is sensitive or allergic to special soaps. I was out of town for almost two weeks cus my grandmother was dying and I forgot to bring his soaps so I just used regular soap and it broke out his skin like a rash

i use the soap from the body shop on my kids, or dove baby. they are the only stuff i dont react to, im even sensitive to ivory. body shop has all sorts of yummy scents too. my fave is satsuma.
just to warn you, this is something i wasnt aware of until my doctor told me. the johnsons no more tears stuff doesnt hurt they eyes because it contains a numbing agent, which means the eyes are still being damaged by soap they just cant feel it, and it can cause problems with tear ducts as well. i still use it on my son on occasion, but i am very careful to keep it away from the eyes. please be careful with this stuff.
