It is not a decision that relates to anyone elses feeling but your own. Annoying family members should be the least of your worries....you should choose someone who you would trust with your son/daughter, someone who you feel would raise him/her in the same manner as you would...
Unfortunately, sometimes being a good parent involves taking stands that might hurt and annoy others.

God parents is overrated. It does not necessarily mean that the people you selected are actually going to get custody of the child unless there are legal documents stating so. We have extended family (members of our church) that would do anything at the drop of a dime for our children if we were to die unexpectedly. So having God parents is more of a formality when there is a Dedication Ceremony for the child(ren).

God Parents are choosen to give spiritual guidence to your child. Guardians are chosen to take care of your childeren when you pass.

Choose your God Parents based on who has the same spiritual or religious views as you. Choose your guardians base on who will raise your childeren as close to how you would raise them.

They are two totally different things.

I think you should convince your husband to let you choose *Mia and *Mike bcuz they would be able to provide a good life for your children if anything were to ever happen to you two. And hopefully nothing bad will happen before all your kids are at least 18, so Mia and Mike as God Parents could still act as supportive family members... as opposed to Ron and Shelly who would be bad influences. Maybe Ron could be the designated uncle...?

Ii is very hard and you want them to be a part of you childrens life

I choose mine by looking back on who was the most trustworthy and who could cope if anything happened to me and my husband after weeks of thinking we choose 4, my brother, his cousin(who we are very close to). My best friend and my husbands best friend.

And it was the best disecion ever they all play a part in our childrens life and we are happpy for that.
