Adoption is a great thing, I had a friend who told me adoption is Cruel but had no explanation for it. But we are definately going to adopt but I have to be 25 before I can so I have to wait 6 years but my husband is very strongly for it, as he was adopted and know what it is like. So Yes we are going to adopt, age, race is not a problem in this family either.

Adoption is the most amazing thing in the world. I have been a foster mom for many years and have had 58 kids come through my home. All different ages and race. I have 6 kids all adopted or in the processes of adopting. They are 6 months old, 2 years old, two 3 year olds, 9 year old, and 11 year old. I'm so blessed to be there mom.

I think that adoption is a great thing to do. Also if you are thinking about adopting, keep in mind that there are older kids who need to be adopted too. Most people just think about adopting a baby toddler or young child, but there are many kids aged 8-18 that need a loving family. My sister was planning on adopting an infant, until she learned about two sisters ages 9 and 13 that needed a home. One time that i talked to them they said that they never thought that they were going to be adopted, that no one would want them. It made me realize how older kids need good role models and a loving family.

i will definetly be adopting at some point. my 2 older brothers were adopted when i was 1 year old. they were 5 and almost 6 at the time. i could not imagine my life without them. when the twins are born, we will have 4 kids under 5(3 under 1 year!), so i will be looking forward to adopting an older child. i am currently taking a foster parenting course(not required, but its very helpful), we hope to do that for awhile. dont know how long it takes to adopt, i still have to do alot of research.

I think it's amazing! I used to think i didin't ant to do it and i wasn't sure i#d love adopted children as much as my own, but that's all in the past. I;d love to have a big family! So i would turn to adoption if i couldn't have my own or i would like to adopt as well as have biological children. I think a lot of people wouldn't really know how to bring up the issue of adoption to a child they'd adopted, but thinking about this wouldn't bother me, i'd just tell the child i loved tham and that they could choose to do whatever they wanted when they were old enough. what my parents did for my brothers was to tell them they had 2 mommies, one who carried them in her tummy, and another that carried them in her heart, and that we'd been waiting for them for a long time. the advantage to adopting older kids is that they already know whats going on, theres no confusion and you dont have to figure out the right time to tell them about it, because they already know. all you can do is to make them feel loved, and make them comfortable in their new lives.
