My youngest son first birthday is coming up and so is my oldest son's fiance's baby shower. Parties are expenxive and I'm a little concerned with all the costs!
what do you think?

oh I know, and then Christmas comes. What I would do, is focus on the baby shower gift. Your little one will be 1 yes, but will it matter if he has his "memory picture" taken after the baby shower? He will not know which date his birthday is at 1 yr old. It is all about budgeting...your time, and your money.

When my son had his baby, I gave them their gifts, personally, and went to the baby shower, to socialize, and hold my grand daughter, while my daughter in law, opened her gifts. I carried her around, so they could see her, and she slept soundly in Omma's arms.

Then, after the shower, I asked my daughter inlaw, what she still needs, that she did not get at the shower. She told me, then I went shopping 1 week later, and brought them the gift personally. I also plan to buy my grandbaby a few outfits every month, so the giving, just keeps giving - and you can stretch out the budget that way too.

i know how you feel. within 7.5 weeks, i have my birthday, our 1st wedding anniversary, christmas and my daughters 4th birthday. for your situation, i would focus more on the baby shower. yes it is your sons 1st birthday, but he will not know when the picture is taken, and would be happy with a cardboard box.

yes i also know how you feel, my twin sister and i are in november, my eldest sister and her son marcus are both in december, mum in jan, my neice Jayla and my other newphew zach are in feb, my dad is at the end of march my husband in may and my younger sister in june thankfully we have a few months breake before our wedding anni before it starts all over again, oh and plus now we have my twins in october and we have christmas gifts on top of that...thank god none of my hubbies siblings have had kids yet and he is responsible for his siblings and parents gifts makes it easier that way as i have no idea what they do or do not like
