Yesterday at dinner...
By Mel1 1 Year, 4 Months Ago
Yesterday i had this dinner with some of my fiancé's friends and family.
I spent most of the time talking to a social worker, we talked about schools, our children and, as one of my future plans is adopting a child (not in a near future though), i asked her a few questions about adoption.
One of the topics we talked about was the fact that people have been adopting older chldren more often, and then she told 3 different storie of couples who have adopted older children, but one of them really got into me in a very shocking way, and i really want to share it with you girls:
There was this couple who said they wanted to adopt a child really bad and they didn't chose any age limit.
So she asked them if they minded adopting a 12 year old girl, who was a very good student (something unusual on this kind of children) anyways they said they didn't mind at all.
So (after a lot of other things that i won't be mentioning because they aren't important) they took the girl home.
2 weeks later they called Elizabeth, the social worker, to tell her they didn't want the girl anymore because she required a lot of attention and they wanted to be alone but couldn't because she wanted to be with them all the time.
WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE ARE THIS 2?! THEY TREATED A CHILD LIKE A PIECE OF CLOTHING!
I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE PEOPLE LIKE THIS LIVING IN THIS WORLD!
I just wanted to share this story with you girls.

Have a nice weekend.

That is discusting that there are people in this world that can do that to a child no matter what the age is. to think of everything that child could av bin through not to mention how alone she could av felt and i know it wrong to assume but alot kids in those situations can play up and act out for attension and all this girl did was want to be near those who she thought were there for her.

HOW SAD!!

That is so out of order on that poor little girl, she only wanted a family and she thought that she was wanted but they did'nt really they just thought they did it makes me so upset that people are like that..

It's really not all that surprising to me that some people are that cruel. People do the same thing to animals everyday, and yet that is fine, but when it becomes a child, then its disgraceful. I agree that either way its wrong, but I think its wrong to do it to anything, person or animal. I know that isn't exactly what this post is about, but I volunteer at an animal shelter in my spare time, and I'm no longer amazed at the cruelty of some humans. Also, my friend's parents sent her to foster care because they didn't want to deal with her anymore, so I've met people like this.

And as an added note on human cruelty:
In the US there is a law (in most states) that if you have a baby, and decide you don't want to keep it, you can bring it to a hospital within the first 72 hours, and drop it off. They will adopt it to a family, and they won't ask you any questions. Anyways, the state of Nevada never specified how long a person had to drop off the child, so there are people driving there to drop off children, some were like 4-5 some were 14-15. I believe they're going to change that law now, but I think its just plain sick.

I truly wish we didn't have people like this in the world, it would be a much better place. Unfortunately, people like this can get away with it all the time, and sadly will not be punished for it, no matter what people like us believe should happen to them. Rest easy though, I'm sure when they meet their higher power/creator/diety/whatever they will be punished for it

I agree with every single word you said pouse.
That law is just so cruel i can't believe that people can actually do that to their children.
