i attended a private school in australia which was a boarding school as well for children from the country....i was only a day student but i became a boarder for about 1 month when my parents had to travel to europe to look after my fathers grandma as she was very ill and it looked like she might not make it...i think this made me learn to take some responsibility and learn to do things for myself, it also taught me a lot of valuable lessons and i thank my parents for choosing this option rather than getting us to stay with family for this time...but i would talk to your boys and see what they think before you decide if they should go or not
