I've recently posted in an Actuarial forums, because I've decided to try for Actuarial exams. And I posted in the introduction section, then I got a reply from some guy.

Hello everyone,

I am a recent 2008 graduate. I originally dual-majored in Design | Media Arts and Math Applied Science/ Actuarial Plan. Unfortunately, I encountered some personal and medical situation, which caused me to have to give up my secondary major (math/applied science). Now I only hold a B.A. degree and a minor in math.

Job hunting has been real difficult in the media field, and I also really regret being so lazy in college, which resulted in a graduating GPA of 2.8

I am now a stay-home mother of a new born baby, and I have finally decided to really try for becoming an Actuary. I know this is going to be a challenging path. But I believe in determination and efforts. I hope to get some support from this forums.

wow, i cant believe someone would say that!
Ive been discriminated alot but probably because im a teen mom. I've been refused the right to join National honor society because i have a baby, I've been given a job and then randomly "laid off" when they found out i had a kid. I got kicked out of all my honors classes at school, i was a cheerleader and when i got pregnant they kicked me off because "if they had a pregnant girl on their squad it would make them look bad".

I've learned to ignore what people say about me.
Dont let what people say get to you. GO FOR YOUR GOAL!

i have, and i'm not even a mother yet. i get dirty stares and looks and people saying rude things. i think that no matter what those people say, go for what you want, and screw them. :]

yep!

we, moms, should really prove to the world what we can accomplish.
