I just want to know if anyone was influenced by something or someone while choosing a name. Or if you have no children is there any?

I know I love the name Emerson. I first saw it in grade five. I recited a poem by Ralph Waldo Emerson. I fell in love with it right away.

My brothers name harley was influenced by a soap show my mum was enthralled by during her pregnancy.

Peyton I think is a beautiful name. I first heard it when I was growing up. Peyton place was one of my mothers favorite books, now its mine.

Right after my aunt was born, my grandma was reading the newspaper and found the name Kerry and liked it....needless to say, I have an Aunt Kerry =)

My uncle was born on my grandpa's birthday so he got my grandpa's name.

I have three names picked out for each boys and girls.

Girls:
Emory Simone -- No real inspiration for this one, I just plain love it.
Rosalia Anne -- If my parents had had another kid, a daughter, they would have named it Rosalia. Anne is the family middle name for girls. My gramma's MN, my moms, and mine.
Gloria Jasper -- The song ?Viva La Gloria? by Green Day. There was another reason, but I don't remember it right now. And I just LOVE Jasper for a girl.

Boys:
Christian Jake -- Love Christian, Jake is my substitution for Jacob, which is my favorite but is too popular,
Maxwell Vincent -- Maxwell is my little brother's middle name, Vincent is my dad's middle name.
Gabriel Erskine -- LOVE Gabriel, Erskine is my older brother's first name. I don't like his middle name, John.

I wasn't inspired by many media things.

Audrey Hepburn is my hereo. So I would love to name my Daughter Audry. I don't have a middle name to go with it though.

Whitney is a family name. I am actually related to Eli Whitney. So I would also like to name my daughter Whitney.. This is all hypothetical....

Harper Lee, a great author. I love the name Harper for a girl.

I named my cat Lilo after the movie Lilo and Stitch. (One of my favorites!!)

Thats it except Leeson. My father's middle name is Lee and he is one of my hereos. So I like the name Leeson for a boy. I also like Liam, Leeland, Leo. Most names with "lee" in them.

Or a middle name for a girl taht is a mixture of my parents middle names would be Kimlee.

I am thinking of using either Paolini, Lee, Harper or Arya for my possible little girls second middle name- they are all authors of two seperate books except Arya who is a character in a book. Levi wasn't influenced by anything; I just loved the name. My possible sons name is the same as Levi's.

I love the name Roran from that series. He's my favourite character.

I love the name Layla from Eric Claptons song and Lucy from the Beatles song Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds.

I've always loved ancient Roman and Greek History so I love the names Hector, Juno, Persephone, Atlas and Aeneas (but you can imagine what kids could turn that into lol). I definitely plan on naming one of my kids Alexander for Alexander the Great.

I love Noah and Dawson from my two favourite movies the Notebook and Titanic.

Anna is a favourite from the book My Sisters Keeper and Shelby from a Road To Paradise.

And I've always wanted to name a future daughter Lilliana Yvonne. the ana in Lilliana for my nana Ann and Yvonne for my Granny.
