I live on Long Island so I now many people who worked/sadly died in the Trade Center

On that day I was in school. fourth grade at the time. The school didn't have tvs in every room but some teachers in the libary where watching the news my sister said. Our parents came to pick my sister(7th grade at the time) up 15 minutes early that day they didn't since our dad worked in the trade center and they didn't want us to here about it on the bus and worry like crazy. They told us about in the car and i remember not even knowing what to think I was just so sad. My dad worked in the first building on the 25 floor. He rushed right out of there and made it home safely. Before my mother had us she worked on the 75th floor of the first building, right where the plane hit. Thank god she stopped working in order to take car of us kids or she would not be here with us today.

Telling/thinking about this story is making me cry right now. I'm so happy my dad was able to get out.
And my heart goes out to all who have lost a love one in this tragic event

I live on Long Island too.

I was in third grade- in the science lab. Another teacher ran in and whispered something to my teacher. My teahcer ran out crying. We later found out that her brother worked on the 32nd floor and thankfully, he made it out ok.I went home and my mom told me a plane crashed in to the WTC. And i remember specifically saying "So what?" But then it hit me when my dad rushed home early and my parents sat in front of the tv, with the news on all night.

Unfortunately, living so close to NYC, i knew many people who worked in WTC buildings. My neighbor was pregnant and lost her husband (a firefighter).

Thank you to all those that risked there lives<3 Never Forget.

This topic came up with my friends yesterday and someone told me this horrific story...

2 years ago, a malke student at my school then a senior was acting out in class. The teacher in that class yelled at him. Her husband worked in the WTC and died in the accident. This student had the nerve to say to her, "So did your husband jump or burn." DO YOU BELEIVE THAT! IT IS SOOOOO UNBELEIVBLE RUDE!!! The teacher rushed out of the classroom and left the school for the day.

That's more than rude. That is just plain cruel.
