By brooke24 3 Years, 3 Months Ago Louisiana.
its a great place, with great people. we all have southern charm and hospitality. not all are as gracious as others. you just have to be in the right place. i would say Shreveport/Bossier. maybe Monroe or West Monroe. Ruston is very quaint but Louisiana Tech is located there. Lots of college students. other than that I was born and raised in Shreveport, and after living in Dallas for three years, im glad to be home. the schools are great. the high school and middle school i went to are so great.

Re:Best Place To Live??? In the US By Natalia 3 Years, 3 Months Ago North Carolina and connecticut.
Florida has #49 public schools and #1 in prisons, I lived in Florida blehhh. Hawaii has the highest rate of poverty, #50 of public schools , #1 in drug ussage and #2 in suicides. But both places are great vacation spots. Last Edit: 2008/11/12 19:11 By Natalia.

Re:Best Place To Live??? In the US By pouse 3 Years, 3 Months Ago My choice would be minnesota. If you live near the decent sized cities, there are ample jobs, the employers treat you fairly, and housing is relatively easy to find. Also, you generally have a really good choice of schools, private or public, and there are colleges all over the state. I mostly went to school in minnesota, I moved to a couple different states, and from what I've found is that minnesota schools were way ahead of the other states I lived in. Someone was telling me awhile back about how well minnesota does in standardized test scores too, but that may have changed.
I may be showing favoritism towards minnesota, since I was born and mostly raised there, but that tends to happen. I will tell you a few things to make sure to remember: 1) South Dakota is a terrible state to live in (Believe me, I'm still desperately trying to get out, once you move here it's like a black hole you can never leave) 2) Ohio has a terrible education system (well it did when I went to school there, and I tried public and private schools) 3)Kentucky is a state to avoid, escpecially if you live near the hillbillies that date their cousins (I am dead serious on that, some of them do) Anyways, hopefully I didn't offend anyone with my state criticism, and if I did oh well, I've lived a lot of places in this country, I've traveled a lot of places in this country, and I have no problem with passing judgement on quite a few of those places I've been.

By ShaeWare 3 Years, 3 Months Ago It really depends on what you are looking for culturally and otherwise. Do you want to be in the city, suburbs, or country? I have lived in California my entire life. There is actually a lot of variety here as far as climate, culture, and such. It is expensive to live here though. I love Portland, Oregon but I've heard that their education system isn't great. I've only visited a few states back east so my opinion might be scewed a bit, but since you're young and married to a tattoo artist (right?)-you guys might like it out here on the west coast.

By leftAndGone 3 Years, 3 Months Ago Well I was born and raised in China for my first 16 years of life. But I have been living in California for 8 years now. I spent two and a half years in San Francisco and 5 years in Los Angeles. Now I'm back to San Francisco to be with my parents.
But I can tell you, I HATE SAN FRANCISCO! I hate the bay area around here. Yeah, it is nice with all these variety of cultures here, and some people love the weather. But to me, there are NO SEASONS! I love summer, which SF does not have. Living expense is high, job opportunities are getting too competitive to get. Everywhere is crowded with people and cars, and foggy and windy most of the time. So I do not recommend San Francisco. But some other places in California are fine, not all though. Los Angeles is fun, busy and colorful, but too much fantasy with all these stuck-up rich people. I'm actually thinking about moving to another state or city myself, if my parents let me.
