Public/Private Schooling By blessed mother of eight 2 Years, 8 Months Ago Hello. My children have always been home schooled and my husband and I have decided to send them to a school. We are having difficult time determining which school to place them in. We have two of 12 years, one of 9 years, and one of 6 years. They are bilingual and are fluent in French and English. My nine year old is deaf in one ear and I had concerns about this, likewise, she learns at a fast pace and does work one grade ahead. She does 5th grade work instead of 4th. I would appreciate suggestions.
Merci. -Leianna

Re:Public/Private Schooling By Emily_G 2 Years, 8 Months Ago IMO private school would be better because it's more one-on-one than public and also challenges it's students more so than public...who just kind of lets their kids slide by

Re:Public/Private Schooling By KaylaW 2 Years, 8 Months Ago i say private school!
I've been in a private Catholic school my whole life! And i wouldn't want to go to public school. Privte schools have more challenging cirriculum, and once they reach high school and if the school offers AP classes, they are at easier gain of college... i could go on and on about why private schools are better, but i'll leave it at that.

Re:Public/Private Schooling By Angel Mummy 2 Years, 8 Months Ago I was an honour student at public school and I can honestly say go private if you can afford it... The fact your children have been home schooled is only going to benefit them at a private school whereas at public school it will be a problem from the other students... Public schools do not challenge a student as much as they should and could whereby private schools are very keen and eager to have student excell as much as they can and will push them as much as needed... You already have one child with what some may class as a disablility, myself I would call it more an extra advantage as they have obviously adapted rather well to be excelling at the rate they are therefore private school will only produce more of the same... My brother inlaw is completely deaf in both ears and he is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met and private schools cater for everyone as the parents are paying for it and will do whatever they can to keep the parents paying... It basically comes down to you get what you pay for and public schools get nothing cos you don't have to pay for anything....

Re:Public/Private Schooling By Seaason 2 Years, 7 Months Ago all my kids are happy, smart, intelligent, well adjusted, polite, well manered & hungry to learn....
and they go to public school... it is a culturally diverse school with many different nationalities, so they not only earn ABC's and math, but they learn cultural acceptance, non segregation & individuality.. yes public schools may be under funded, but they are more passionate, about the students, about the community and about the world, i just got Zebs report card from schoo yesterday, and it was ALL A's & B's and all high acheivments!! i have no probs inpublic school, u just have to teach ur kids to love learning... the school is irrelevent....
