We are expecting a baby girl in September, and need some advice regarding her name. We have a 4 year old boy named Ethan and an 18 month old girl named Emma. We love the name Ella Reese, however a previous co-worker of mine, (we are now in another state) has a daughter with this name. I still have some contact with my previous co-workers, so I'm afraid using this name would be weird. We just love the name and that it also starts with and "E", like our other children. We are also considering the name, Eliana Reese and would call her Ella, as a compromise. We need some advice. What do you think of these names and what would you do in our situation? Thanks for your help!!

I like Ella Reese but i do think it will be kind of weird with your co-worker and all. how about...

Eliyah Reese (pronounced uh-lie-uh)
Ellie Reese
Emilia Reese (pronounced either like Amelia or emma-leah)

Evelyn Reese

You love the name, you are in a different State. Name her Ella Reese.

Go for it and make yourselves happy.

If i were you, i would see how my relationship is like with that friend. If it's ok-ish, i actually wouldn't. But if i'm close to that friend, i MIGHT keep the name. I seem weird right, it should be the opposite, but that's what i might do. hehe..

What about calling her Elise? Sounds similar to Ella Reese but is still a short, one 'name' name lol. This goes with Ethan and Emma

Also, realistically, if you name your daughter Ella it's so similar to Emma you'll be forever calling them the wrong names! Even more than people usually do

Agree with this... Ella and Emma sound extremely similar. I'm sure most parents have problems with getting the names right sometimes, but in your case it would probably be ten fold.


I think Elliana Reece is really cute, but I'd call her Elliana or Ellie instead of Ella.
