Yes, well, it's a good thing then that not every woman will want to have an abortion. You should have children because you want to and feel that you can take proper care of them, and luckily, many families do feel that way. I don't think there's any risk that the human race will die out as a result of abortions

We cut out cancers that body that use your blood, grow, feed off of your body, can not survive without you, and that have the potential to end your life, and yet, just because an egg has the possibility of growing into an amazing human being, women are made to feel guilty and evil because they made a decision that they felt was right for their life. There is a difference between a life and a symbiote, and until a fetus can survive outside of the womb, it is purely a possibility.
I am by no means pro abortion. I would rather see adoption made more affordable and accesable by anyone who is not Angelina Jolie. The fact is that while there are millions of couples who want to adopt, there are thousands of reasons why they can't, cost, age, sexuality, weight, health, etc. There are over 500,000 children in foster care in the US. For those reasons, I must be pro choice. You don't see all those anti-choicers who stand outside the clinics with their signs shouting hate lining up to adopt these unwanted children. How can they, they are just to busy harassing pregnant women on their weekends to raise another kid.
Every time I see a story on the news about a baby in a trash bin or a toddler shaken to death or a kid left to starve or a little girl who was forced to bear her fathers children (yep was on the news here in Mo) it makes me so angry. If all those protesters worry about kids soooo much, why are they not out protecting the ones who are already here. They seem to forget that there are fates in this world worse than death, and all of them are much worse once you have known life.

"You reap what you sow" (basically you harvest what you planted or what goes around comes around) is flawed logic in this case because it is only the woman that is affected. The man "sowed" his ass off to, and yet he reaps no censequences at all.

I see what you are saying about the man reaps nothing. But the fact of the matter is that just because it's not fair that the women must take responsibility instead of the man for what they have sewn together doesn't mean that she should not take responsibility. Just because someone else isn't taking responsibility doesn't give you rights to not take it either. I don't like talking of a baby as a foetus, they are alive and just because they rely on anothers body does not make them any less a baby. Especially because when a baby is born they rely on you just as much as when they were in your womb. A baby is a baby to me from when the sperm first met the egg.

I was going to stay out of this 100% until I saw this. Get married to the baby's daddy? Really? Are you insane. This is a 16 year old child we are talking about. Her life is already in upheaval because of the physical and hormonal changes she is facing ON TOP OF all the stress and worry about her family's response, and you advise her to top that off with becoming a wife to someone that we know nothing about? How the hell does that solve her problem?

First, what do we know about this male (is he a boy or a man, we don't know). From her post, he obviously isn't by her side the whole way or she wouldn't be as scared as she is. He isn't rich because she wouldn't be so worried. He isn't smart because obviously he needs to take "Use a condom 101".
Second, if she chooses to keep the baby, having a "husband" isn't the magic key to Easy Street. If he is her age, he can't get a great paying job, he is probably still in school, and he is immature. Regardless, a woman is capable of raising a child alone, and if she chooses to do this she will be forced to be a woman soon enough.
Third, God forbid she follow your advice and lose the baby, then what does she have? A husband who feels like he was forced into a marriage for nothing.

Now, all that addressed, my advice is consider your options. Live with each decision for 24 hours (abortion, adoption, and keeping it) and then decide what feels right for you.

There is also the chance that this is a fake post meant to get this kind of discussion going and get everyone into an uproar. Have you not noticed the plethora of topics that are almost identical to this one? Seems kinda fishy to me.

Most definitely agree except with the last part but honestly i'm not doing abortion debates here anymore because i've never in my year & whatever odd months here seen it end well. IMHO you're probably the only one who could debate & keep a cool level head & state why you feel the way you do. I probably could if i could figure out what i think. Seriously though for everyone if this girl really needs advice why is it being turned into an abortion topic?? How does this BS help the girl? Assuming as Bexie said shes real. Exactly, I thought this site was meant to help people not ignore the topic at hand... If this poor girl is real and is indeed going through this then I seriously feel sorry for her cos she has had her situation turned into a topic about abortion and she never even mentioned that it was an option for her... My son has got 2 girls pregnant, one is due 5 weeks after I am and the other girl I found out today had an abortion last Thursday and it is the most aweful thing for anyone to go through let alone a young girl who is confused and petrified about what to do... It takes alot of strength and courage to go through with something like that no matter what anyones opinion on the matter is and the girl who my son got pregnant is now an absolute mess after going through with an abortion... As for the young girl who started this post, I feel for you in a big way and there are people on this site who will be more than willing to give you advice that you can benefit from and that you can talk to so please don't take this thread as the type of help you will get from us on here cos this thread kinda sux bigtime.... If you want to have this baby then tell who you need to to be surrounded by those who will love and support you and help guide you through this, if you decide to adopt or the other alternative than do some research first but just know that it is your body and NO BODY has the right to judge you or tell you what to do with it.... You make a great point. In my country, where abortions are legal, done professionally at hospitals and hardly debated a lot, we actually don't have that many tragedies such as those you describe.
