If the rest of your family has the middle name Esme, it shouldn't be a problem. If you just picked it with no reason, then people would assume Twilight. If they ask, just say, 'No, it's been a tradition in our family for a long time.' And they should shut up about it. And if anybody gives you crap, I can give you an anti-Twilight rant to shoot at them.

I didn't notice the allergy medication thing, but I don't think it's that big of a deal. I mean, really, who would think, 'Oh, she named her daughter after an allergy medication. That makes much sense, I LOVE that medication too! Of course!' Yeah, I doubt anybody will care that much, and medication brands don't last forever, anyway. It also is an actual name, and therefore nobody should give you too much (or any) crap about it.

Alegra Esme Skye, I think, is a beautiful name.

I was not implying she would be naming her after the medication, and I did state in my earlier post that it is (and was before the med) a name. I was simply saying that a lot of other people may only know of the allergy med and associate that first thing. Or not. Just a possibility.

And I was not implying that you were implying that. I was merely taking the situation to extremes to illustrate that though some people will notice, they probably won't care all that much. Parents and people involved in the naming are going to freak about every tiny thing, but people who just hear the name won't care, assuming they even make the connection. I sure didn't, lol. Really, no offense at all!

Though, there might be minor teasing if kids make the connection. I never experienced or saw much teasing involving names, though, so I don't think I'm much of a judge.
