Hi, again! I won't ramble on, just find time to research and search your heart about the vaccinations. I personally don't agree with it all spiritually, religiously, however you want to put it. Besides that, I don't like how they handle it all.

Would you consider canceling the party so she can feel better and you can regroup? She won't remember it and others wouldn't want to catch her cough or whatever. Hope you had a good time at homecoming. You two take a nap and get well!

The swine flu vaccine and the plain flu vaccine are identical except for the strain actual virus in it. It's like having a glass of sugar water and selecting which flavor of koolade to add to it. My personal belief is that vaccines save lives, and not vaccinating is unsafe. I know a lot more people who got vaccinated without any issues than those that got vaccinated and had a reaction.

The other swine flu in the '70's: more people had bad reactions from the vaccine than died from the flu.

There is so much going on. More and more people are waking up and refusing this stuff. But to each his own.....

Each flu season is unique, but it is estimated that approximately 10% to 20% of U.S. residents get the flu, and an average of 114,000 persons are hospitalized for flu-related complications. About 20,000 Americans die on average per year from the complications of flu.

The 2009 H1N1 swine flu vaccine has 'been well tolerated' in clinical studies according to the FDA. Possible side effects will likely be similar to the seasonal flu vaccine side effects, including:

•mild fever
•muscle aches
•nausea
•headache
•fainting (mainly adolescents)
•soreness, redness, or swelling at the injection site (flu shot)
•runny nose or congestion (nasal spray flu vaccine)

There are two types of vaccines:

•The "flu shot" — an inactivated vaccine (containing killed virus) that is given with a needle, usually in the arm. The flu shot is approved for use in people older than 6 months, including healthy people and people with chronic medical conditions.
•The nasal-spray flu vaccine — a vaccine made with live, weakened flu viruses that do not cause the flu (sometimes called LAIV for "live attenuated influenza vaccine" or FluMist®). LAIV (FluMist®) is approved for use in healthy* people 2-49 years of age who are not pregnant.

Who Should Not Be Vaccinated
There are some people who should not get a flu vaccine without first consulting a physician. These include:

•People who have a severe allergy to chicken eggs.
•People who have had a severe reaction to an influenza vaccination.
•People who developed Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) within 6 weeks of getting an influenza vaccine.
•Children less than 6 months of age (influenza vaccine is not approved for this age group), and
•People who have a moderate-to-severe illness with a fever (they should wait until they recover to get vaccinated.)
