it also depends where your from. my hospital doesn't supply anything but in other places they do

Lip balm your lips get very dry
breast pads even if your not gonna breast feed your milk will still come in.
Maternity pads
An infant car seat
and you will need lots of baby stuff they puke bring up mucus and mess there clothes i went through heaps as did everyone else in my room
different size clothes i tool oooo thinking shed be small most oooo she didn't fit her
i took 2 bags one for me and one for Aaliyah cos u usually end up taking home more than you bought
lollies to suck you prob wont want them
towel if you dont wanna use there usually they provide they
hair band you get very hot
phone so u can everyone the good news
bottles if u bottle feed/formula
slippers
your own pillows if you want i found it help me sleep better
maternity bra
maybe some music i did but i never heard it i was to involved with the pain lol

to tell you the truth you'll probably end up butt naked and wont touch any lollies or anything like that lol i wasn't gonna get naked but when your there and in labour you don't care i was happy to run through the hospital naked to get to the bath and back but but they wouldn't let me lol

but i also spent more time in hospital than normal be prepared for the worst but dont freak out i was gonna do all natural and ended up having forceps and got cut and tore lost a lot of blood and had to stay in hospital a week.

Camera is essential and getting a newspaper on the day of birth is a great idea, i got one for my husband from the day of his birth for his 50th and i wish id thought of it for my own childrens birthdays. be a great present for baby when they're older, for their 21st maybe or when they become a parent themselves. pack your bag then forget it. try to be in the moment when the labor pains start instead of worrying if you've got everything because its over before you know it.
