By leftAndGone 1 Year, 11 Months Ago Today, my friend told me about the daughter of her friend. This little girl is only 24 or 26 months old (I forgot the exact #), but weights 36 pounds! She eats all kinds of food, including the McChickens at McDonald's. And my friend even said it in a way that suggesting something positively amazing about this little girl, because she eats all kinds of food, and weights so much. She even hints to me that I should let my son eat all those food too.
I mean, seriously? why is it a good thing for a little toddler to weight so much and eat junk food? Why is the mother still feeding her kid fast food when her weight is already above 95 percentile. Is that even healthy? I really don't get it.

Re:24 or 26 Months old weight 36 pounds By NatesMummy 1 Year, 11 Months Ago is this child tall for her age?? if so that could be a reason as to why she weighs this. but yes the JUNK FOOD is contributing to the weight gain and will not be good for her young under developed body, she runs the risk of having high blood pressure Diabetes and other long term health issues.
I'm sorry to say but this mother is abusing their child with food which i personally think is just as bad as mental or physical abuse, this mother needs to be talked to about what foods her child should and shouldn't be eating at 2 years old. here is a quick over view of what food my son eats BREAKFAST: rice bubbles with soy milk and soy yoghurt half a banana 1 slice of multi grain toast with marmite or honey SNACKS: (through out the day) plain crackers 1/4 apple fruit strings (all natural) WATER is offered through out the day and sippy bottle is at a height he can reach raisins dried apricots oranges DINNER: mixed vegies small portion of meat (most nights depending on what i have taking out of freezer that morning) potatoes rice pasta beans lentils BED TIME: 1 soy bottle at afternoon nap and 1 at night time

By leftAndGone 1 Year, 11 Months Ago I am not sure how tall she is, because I have never met the kid. But from what I have heard, the parents are not particularly tall, so I assume the kid is at average height. All my friend said was that she is very big.
But regardless of her proportion, I seriously don't like the idea of introducing junk food at such early age. Kids these days will get plenty of time in the future to enjoy fried chicken and soda, why start so early? I know she doesn't only eat junk food, she eats regular food too. But still, I won't do that to my son. What pissed me off was that my friend thinks that I should feed my son "all kinds of food," you know, including those high sugar packaged beverages and McDonald's food. She gave me this look, like I am restricting my son's diet or something. My son's diet is healthy, and his weight is at 50 percentile, height at 90 percentile. So I am happy as long as he is not underweight.

Re:24 or 26 Months old weight 36 pounds By emily. 1 Year, 11 Months Ago I understand if you'd give your child something sugary or 'junkie' as a treat every now and again, but not everyday its really unhealthy and teaching the child bad habits early.
