Advice
By Maya 3 Years, 10 Months Ago
My friends son is over 3 years old and still is not potty trained. She has tried pull ups they did not work, since they are just like diapers. She has tried cheerios they did not work. Does any one have any advice?

In all the readings you pull up you will find that the majority read that boys usually take longer to potty train they actually say not fully until around age 4, but he should be going pee. Encouragement..one of the best things to do is make him comfortable its a change for him to. Let him watch mom or dad or if their is a sibling and when that person goes make it a HUGE deal, jump up and down and clap those hands and sing about it but never get upset about it, imagine yourself in those little shoes. Call the diapers or pull ups big boy underwear.

Baby Songs Video (kids singalong from the 80's) has a song on it called "today I took my diapers off" works everytime. Once kids see that other kids are using the potty they want to follow along. I swear by this video.

has she tried taking him to the store and letting him pick out some big boy underwear ? I know my son was so proud to get his Thomas the Tank Engine underwear that he picked out all by himself. He would try really hard not to pee in them because if he did then he had to put on the pull up which we called baby diapers. He trained really quickly and at the age of 2 1/2 using this, the cheerios, and alot of positive reinforcement.

Thanks for the advice I will pass that along to my friend. She has taken her son to the store to pick out his own underwear as well.
