How much should a 17mo. old be talking?

My daughter will be 1 nxt week, so far she says.. Mama, Mam, Dad, Rory (her uncle) Bob (We done know where that has come from lol) & What's that (when she hears a loud noise)
People think she talks quite well for her age but i think alot of it is because we encourage her or she hears us say it so picks it up.

I guess all children are different and will talk when they are ready or want something.

My daughter actually talks quite a bit and I've been told that its unusual. But from what I've read here I don't think it sounds that off track. Thanks for the input. Anyone else have any big talkers?

Everyone is different and they learn at their own pace, so nothing to worry about. You daughter might be a little talker when shes old enough!

No one person is like any other. Some pick things up quicker than others. Although there are some guidelines to follow and signs to look for to make sure your child stays on pace. Being 17 months i assume you have another appt. coming up soon for the 18 month shots. your Dr. does the well baby check up and should be asking you those questions and can give you a pamphlet to guide you through that age. Lots of boooks and interaction. remember you can go back to that child life and role play!!!
