Your tips for naming a baby (1 viewing) (1) Guest
Re:Your tips for naming a baby By Mommy2Mylia 1 Year, 4 Months Ago my tips for naming my child is simply something that is unique and creative according to what i like, i dont think you should choose a name based on what others will think because that name is no longer unique and your child will suffer. growing up with the name channing it was often misspelled and mispronounced but in the end everyone always said it was unique and pretty and even different so i plan to give my child a unique name as well, btw i was never teased or made fun of but kids admired me for having such a special name

By Roly1 1 Year, 4 Months Ago Under no circumstances believe that you are being unique or clever if you change the trditional and accepted spellings of a name, eg Krewz should always and forever be Cruz.

Re:Your tips for naming a baby By ajohnson84@mac.com 1 Year, 4 Months Ago Exactly. I agree w/ Roly1 100%. Of course it is up to the parent what to name the baby according to what pleases them at the time BUT it would benefit them to know that the name will be attached forever to their baby, and it can have a BAD effect on how people will look at their child if you do this.
I would stick with traditional names / spellings - not Kaitelynn, Brittni, Wendi etc. this is not unique, it can seem trashy.

Re:Your tips for naming a baby By snazzyjazzi07 1 Year, 3 Months Ago My suggestion is to go with what you love. I love uniques names. My kids will spend the rest of their lives spelling their names because I didn't give them names like Emily or Jennifer. My oldest daughter is LaShaea. I could have made her life easier by spelling her name Lashaya. Everyone thinks her name is LaShay. But I didn't care I loved my spelling. LaShaea just looks better to me. My second daughter is Acacia. I loved that name since I was fifteen. I thought about spelling phonetically. Akaysha. I so didn't like it. Acacia is a name of a tree. Plus I loved the spelling so I left alone. Jazzi is my third baby. We basically named her Jazzi because her dad loves jazz. I wanted to give a little twist so I spelt with an I. I thought it be cute when she gets older to tell people her name is Jazzi with an I. When people ask her is it short for Jasmine she'll say no I'm just Jazzi. I'm expecting our fourth girl. With her I'm considering the name Teavani, TAY ah VAH nee. That name was inspired by a coffee shop called Teavana. I know this baby will have some difficulty with people saying and spelling her name correctly. But you know I don't care. My girls won't be burdened by their unusual names. If anything they will love them because they came from Mommy's heart and Mommy put a lot of thinking and imagination into them. I didn't just go rooting through a baby name book.

Re:Your tips for naming a baby By XPhoebe LorenX 1 Year, 3 Months Ago I'd say no matter what you name your child don't make the spelling too difficuilt or too un-phonetic. I grew up having to spell out my 1st, middle and last name time and time again, with people gi=ving me funny looks, an i hate every time. I think thta giving your child aunique name is wonderful but don't over complicate the spelling, it's so annoying believe me.
