I sympathize! Pregnancy back pain is awful! I remember it well. I was often gently teased during both my pregnancies about rocking my babies before they were even here!
Laying with a pillow under your knees will take pressure off your low back, where I am assuming your pain is located. Warm moist heat used 20 minutes or so at a time will help. A tummy support will also give you relief if you have to be on your feet a lot. Using your arms to help you rise from a chair, a move that places the maximum amount of stress on your low back, will help. If you are in bed roll to your side and use your arms for support sliding them to support your upper body as you lower your feet to the floor.
I had a lumbar laminectomy (low back surgery) twenty-five years ago and that advice has served me well. Three months after I had my surgery, our car was hit, on my side, by a semi-truck that was backing up. I was given three choices, spinal fusion, using a body brace with doubtful results or, as I decided, to just keep putting one foot in front of the other. I have survived without further back surgery thus far by doing exactly that and by following the same advice I have recommended to you. Good luck!

I had really bad lower back pain with my pregnancy as well. The only thing that helped me was constantly changing positions, but if I got stuck driving when it hit I was out of luck. excrusiating.

Good point, CariannDS! There are many moist heat therapeutic patches and microwaveable packs that will help for on the go relief.

Oh, that reminds me Nonny. The rice sock was a life saver. At my birthing class they suggested to us to fill a tube sock with rice and microwave for a few seconds to make a heating pad. But be careful it gets suprising hot very quickly.
