I Believe "Spanking" Is Wrong.
They Dont Learn Anything From Getting A Tap On The Hand But Maybe A Big Hiding They Would But Thats Illegal In New Zealand
Ive Never Hit My Child I Use The Naughty Step And That Works Fine

Just the thought of spanking a child is upsetting. I'm very much agaisn't it.I feel it should always come as a last resort,never first.Unfortunately we have too many parents out there who expect their children to be perfect.I once saw a mother take her 1-year-old baby out of her pram because she was crying so much. I thought the mother was doing this so as she could hold her,to try to calm her, but instead she turned her over and spanked her.I've never forgotten it.

I think im a hypocrite on this subject. My daughter is 19 months and never been spanked & I dont think by her great behavior she will need it in the future.Also my 5 year has onlt been spanked about 4 times in his life.By spanked I mean clothes on,one tap accross the hiney -mainly because i was scared due to catching him doing various things such as hanging out window at 6am at age 4. My 3 year old-bites my 19 month old- and when he does I do smack him on the hiney too.Other people say to bite him back-but i just CANT.I love him & dont want to hurt him- i know a smack on the toosh (with a diaper on mind you) just scares him-not hurts..
With that being said I dont like spanking- i wasnt spanked as a child- and try very hard to control my feelings about biting.However until your a mom and one kid leaves blood bite marks on the baby in the house-you dont know if youll spank. I guess that makes me a spanker- but i dont like it one.I just get scared and dont know what else to do at that moment. I must be a hypocrite! =) lol

In some ways we are all hypocrites cus no ones perfect,but you come across as a really nice person.at least you have compassion and sensitivity of the topic,and can admit your agaisnt it.alot of parents out there who spank their kids cant admit it because their too scared to look like their not perfect.and so was i my parents spanked me and im quite reliefed ive turned out to be one who is agaisnt it.some go the other way.i think if i ever have a child i may end up spanking,but i just know at the end of the day i will feel as guilty as anything and try not to do it again.i just think its horrible how there are parents who literally plan to spank.i remember reading one comment that said she was pregnant and has decided to spank her children whenever they do something wrong.and i was like, what? are you serious? spanking should never be planned.i find that more disturbing.

yeahh if you dont even have a kid yet-you shouldnt plan to spank it. ;P thats odd!!

lol i know. whoever she was she hasnt let me forget it.i just sat there thinking girl,you do not deserve to have this baby.
