a disaster from a baby crib!
By Tyler's Mommy 3 Months Ago
Hi everyone. My name is Lisa and I gave birth to my son Tyler about a week or so ago. We bought him a crib before he was born and he slept in it for about 5 days until it broke. I guess it wasn't stable enoguh to hold to matress, because one night while my husband and I were in bed, we heard a big crash and a little tiny baby scream. We both ran into Tyler's room and saw that the crib had fallen apart and just collpased. Tyler was on the floor cyring his eyes out, with a piece of wood laying across his stomach. Oh, just thinking about it makes me cry. It was terrible.
The next day, I took Tyler to the doctor's office just to see if he was all right. His pediatrician claimed there to be no injures, except a little cut on his left leg that he put a Band-Aid and anitbactrial cream on.
My husband and I think we should complain to the crib company about this. After all, the crib cost a large amounnt of money and it broke! It also caused minor injures. What do you think? Should I complain?

Yes, I definitely would. If it was put together correctly, and still collapsed, there is a danger that there are others that way, too. They may recall them. So I would let them know! I am glad your baby is okay!

oh you must! You wouldn't want that happening to other children as well. My daughter had this high chair and one day she was laying her head on the table part and it snapped off. She didn't fall but she was extreamly frightend and we called the company and many of those high chairs were recalled.

Definately complain to the crib company. I am glad to hear that Tyler is okay.

What name brand crib was it?

I'd rather not say the name of the company, for that might cause some controversial issues.

I would look into complaining to the company, and I would take other steps as well. They may just sweep it under the rug if they don't realize there may be consequences to this. I would report it to your local tv news, most have some kind of consumer complaint segment. I would also consider consulting a lawyer to see what they say. You don't know if this company has had numerous other complaints and just blown them off, a lawyer would be able to find that out. Your baby could have been seriously injured, you have every right to pursue this for him, and other babies who could be hurt. I'm really happy that he is okay
