Baby carrier makes the first months easier?
By baby_love 3 Years, 8 Months Ago
A question to all new moms about a baby carrier -

What is the best option based on personal experience? the sling looks like a great idea from a distance, but the baby looks all bunched up in there and unable to move around. On the other hand the structured carriers do not have that organic feel. Any advice?

I like the carriers better. The sling makes me think that I might suffocate them!

my dd did not like to be in a sling, she light to be more upright, so the carrier was awesome for us. she liked the closeness of the carriers, how she was right up against me. i also found the sling to be alot harder on my back. it all comes down to what baby is comfortable with. you wont care so much about organic if it makes your baby scream.

I've only used the carriers because slings weren't really available when I had my older kids. I have a sling I am going to try with this one, but I also have a carrier just in case. The biggest thing about the carriers is making sure they have plenty of head support for a newborn, they are comfortable for you and don't cause back pain, ease of use, and the leg holes are big enough for chubby little legs but still secure. I had issues with the leg holes with my middle daughter because she was a really chunky baby ( 18 pounds at 3 months old)and it would pinch her so we didn't use it. My younger daughter loved hers. Go online and read reviews, also take your baby to the store and try the carriers out to see if they are comfortable for both of you. I settled on the Jeep one because of the reviews saying it was the most comfortable for your back, and because its easily adjustable. Try both and see which one your baby likes
