Your Child's Future??? By childgobbler 5 Months, 4 Weeks Ago I remember that one of the polls was "How Often Do You Think About Your Child's Future?" or something like that, and it sort of got me thinking. How often do you think about your child's future? And I've heard of hundreds of parents saying that when their child grows up s/he'll be President/Prime Minister, or a doctor, or something, but does anyone have any slightly more... creative or unique goals for their children?
My almost-two-year-old daughter Michelle loves painting, and I would love it if she could do something involving the arts when she grows up, whether it be writing, singing, drawing, painting, acting, anything! I'm constantly thinking about her future, although I do know that it's her choice what she'll do when she grows up. Does anyone else have any thoughts? Oops, I'm sorry, I just realized that this probably should've gone under "Parenting"! Once again, Sorry! Last Edit: 2008/06/08 16:21 By childgobbler.

Re:Your Child's Future??? By HL1 5 Months, 4 Weeks Ago I have thought about my kids future and I am sure that most parents wants their kids to be a doctor, lawyer etc, but for myself I want my kids to do what they want to do. Whatever makes them happy. I am hoping something artistic.

Re:Your Child's Future??? By newmommy2be 5 Months, 4 Weeks Ago I agree with you . im sure that many parents often question the future their children. My mothers dream was always for me to sing proffesionally, but after years of voice lessons and competing nation wide, i decided to marry my high school sweet heart and start a family. Sure i could have pursued it, i have the talent and drive to see it through, but right now im focused on the family. since ive obviosly steered away from the topic, (sorry...lol) i think what im trying to say is that it is up to the child to be in charge of their dreams. my best hope for my baby is that he/she follows the path that their heart sets them on, be it safe and legal of course...lol, and do what makes them happy. i hope this helps some, im not the best at advice, and trust me, i could use plenty myself... i wish you and your baby girl all the best in life!

By Will 5 Months, 3 Weeks Ago I have no clue what my children will do when they grow up but with my oldest son james im certain he will do something with animals. hes obessed with them and has been since he was very small. He loves gorillas and monkeys. He might be a vet or a zoologist or an animal researcher or something. My second oldest Nick is all about planes and trucks, but then again hes 2 and lots of 2 year old boys are into that. I think he might have a mechnical mind so who knows where that will take him. Its all about them following their own passions.

Re:Your Child's Future??? By CariannDS 5 Months, 2 Weeks Ago I imagine my daughter's future all the time. I think maybe she'll be a dietician or a chef or maybe something to do with birds since she's really into birds right now. But she's only 19mo. so she will probably be interested in a lot of things in her life. What ever she chooses I hope it makes her happy and I hope it involves a college degree.
