?Harriet?
By CD 5 Months, 3 Weeks Ago
Hi I'm having my first and it's a girl! I'm very excited and nervous cause I want to give her the best - including the best name! My family is huge and seems there's a trend to name the girl with the name which has a "boyish" nickname, so far, we have: Charlotte (aka Charlie)-me, Francesca (aka Frankie)-my older sister, Samantha (aka Sam)-niece, Michaela (aka Mikey-niece), Josephine (aka Joey)-niece. I fell in love with the name Harriet (nn would be Harry). Both me and my husband love the name, but we've heard a few negative comments... All I want to know is:
Do you like Harriet?? What do you think of it?
Thanks!

If you both like the name then you should name your baby Harriet. Good luck and congratulations!

BTW, my aunt's name is Henrietta and we call her Henri.

I've never been fond of the name and I've heard of the spelling "Harriett".
BUT I cannot do with any interference except from the father and as you BOTH love it, you use it.
IMHO there's nothing wrong with Harry as a nn (no other!) but I would spell it Harri. Or even Harrie. It will sound the same of course, but taking the H away, when written, look more 'girly'.
Wdyt?

Sorry was thinking of Hannah ... I meant taking the Y off the end of Harry.
