How long do you breast feed the baby???

As long as you like. Most I've heard is that breastfeeding the baby for at least 6 months is very good for it. But it's all about how comfortable you are and what works best for you and your baby. Some babies wean themselves off the breast before the mother plans to quit. Good luck!

some people do it for up to 2 years. i did exclusively for 3 months, then b-fed and pumped until 1 year. worked out great. its whatever you and your baby are comfortable with. some babies wean themselves and some need a little help so its pretty much up to you.

My daughter is 19 months and we are still breastfeeding. We are down to once or twice a day now.

4 to 6 mo. exclusive breast feeding is best for allergies, immune system, brain developement, eye developement, etc. There have also been studies that show breastfeeding past the first year can help with social skills and confidence.

Just do the best you can and get help if you need it.

MY PED. TOLD ME THAT AS LONG AS I BREASTFED FOR ONE MONTH THAT THE BABY WOULD HAVE ALL THE ANTIBODIES THAT HE NEEDED BUT THE LONGER THE BETTER. WITH MY OLDEST I ONLY GOT TO PUMP AND FEED HIM FOR 2 WEEKS(HE WAS IN NICU) WITH MY YOUNGEST I ONLY GOT TO ONE MONTH AND HE WEANED HIMSELF BECAUSE HE WASN'T GETTING ENOUGH SO I SUPPLMENTED WITH FORMULA FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS TILL I DRIED UP. HOPE IT HELPS. BUT IF FOR SOME REASON YOU CAN'T BREAST FEED OR FOR NOT THAT LONG DON'T FEEL BAD ABOUT FORMULA FEEDING BECAUSE MY OLDEST IS HARDLY EVER SICK AND IS VERY SMART AND MY YOUNGEST IS SICK ALOT.

I have heard of people breast feeding up to a year old! I couldn't do that because of their teeth!
