i am actually having the same issue right now. we don't know the sex of our baby, but my husband has stated repeatedly that he is AGAINST circumcision, and i am for it. i am jewish and although not very religious at all, it is still a tradition i would like to keep going to honor my heritage. my husband is not snipped and thinks the act is "cruel" and "unnecessary". i hope i have a girl!!!!

I am hoping for another girl too.

What a great way to bring a baby boy into the world, with his parents arguing over the well being of his penis. Poor little guy. Currently, I don't see either one of us budging on our positions.

And thanks to "pgagain" for the "nocirc" website. I checked it out and sent it to my husband, we'll see what he thinks.

Okay,so both of my boys (now ages 5 and 3) were both adopted right after birth, however in the hospital the irth mom had final say over circumsision. With our 5 year old-she didnt do it and with the 3 year old she did.My 5 year old has not had ANY problems with his penis at all.My 3 year old has not either-althought o be honest-being circumsized looks kinda funny.Bath time is much easier with my 5 year old as that part is hidden from the extra skin and he cleans it himself and everything. We have a biological daughter whos 19 months and im 3 months preggo. Having said that,if I ever give birth to a baby boy and can make the desision myself- Im not getting it done. Its not nessasary at all and hurts very badly..

i was told that people circumsize their sons because otherwise they need to make sure it is clean properly etc as it is easier to become infected under the foreskin if not washed properly...not too sure if this is true tho just what my older cousin told me

I know i definitely wouldn't even think of doing it to my children unless it was for religious reasons, even then i don't think i would want it. Are you jewish or part of another religion that does this, if you don't mind me asking?
x

If you are asking me, no I am not Jewish and I was baptized Catholic but I don't practice.

I wasn't sure if you were asking me or Daniela.
