telling your parents
By Natalia 5 Months Ago
Okay my boyfriend are in the process of concocting a plan of how to tell our parents, it's not like we're little kids or anything but we are young he's 19 and I'm 18.
My dad isn't crazy strict but it's just I really don't think he'll be happy not only that I took a year off from going to college and I live out of a van but that I'm pregnant. We're going to ask the ob/gyn to refer to some where back home because it is best that we're back with our families if were really going to do this. But Ryan and I are still confused of how to tell them. Any advice?

If your going back, it is best to tell them face to face. Just sit down and be honest. Honesty is the best policy. Good luck.

I agree with Granny Nora. Just tell them and get it over with. It might take them a while to get completely over it but they will I promise!

Ryan is calling his dad tonight even though were leaving to get back home on Tuesday! Ryan has this best friend and we "HAD" to tell him so Ryan told him and than after that like I overheard him telling his friend how scared he was. I know Ryan thinks of his dad as a security blanket kind of and I really don't want his dad knowing before I get to tell everyone because his dad will tell literally everyone and when my dad finds out before I tell him he'll freak out.

Does anyone have any really good convincing tips?

You and ryan both need to figure out what your going to do like make a list... don't go to either of your parents emptied handed and expect them to just jump to help you. You have to make them realize your ready to become responsible. i'm 22 so trust me im not just tryin to lecture you. But you really dont have much to lose because your already living outta a van and really dont have much of anything. I was 21 when i found out i was pregnant was about to graduate college and working a good fulltime job which paid very well and i also was living alone in my own apartment it was great. I ended up leaving my job because i had medical issues with the baby and that also affected my school. so I ended up moving home with my parents and i actually worked a part time job my whole pregnancy but i was sick alot so it was very hard. I'm actually over due right now i was due saturday so i hope my baby comes soon. But i wouldnt change my decision to have this baby for anything in this world. so make sure your ready to commit to something like this. good luck
