My husband and I got married when we were both 25. We had been married for 3 1/2 years when our son was born. We love the time we had together, just the two of us before having children. If it hadn't been for our age, we would have probably waited a little longer- maybe 5 years. My friend and her husband waited 5 years, and she doesn't regret it at all (they got married in their early 20's). My husband and I were able to have fun and go some places and do things that it's harder to do once you have babies. After that, we were ready to start trying for a baby and we are very happy now with our son and are hoping to have more children.
But everyone is different, so it is just something you have to think about and decide for yourself. And sometimes things happen unexpectedly, too. If I had gotton pregnant earlier in our marriage, we still would have been happy! But I wouldn't plan for a baby unless you have no doubts that you and your husband are both ready.
