I know about a dozen girls name Addison and Madison..it's still son of Adam/son of Maud...
James is a form of Jacob which means holder of the heel/supplanter which refers to the youngest twin of Isaac and Rebecca who held his twin brother Esau's heel as he was born (bible story) To me this isn't less masculine than Benjamin which means "son of youth"

We have gotten some flack, but it seems generational. Older people (55+) kinda make a face or give me a blank look. Younger people LOVE the name.
We call her Ellie or Elle for short. I think it is a beautiful name and I doubt she'll be in school with other kids with the same name.
As for it being a "boy" name, so was Carol, Shannon, Kim, Tracy, Stacy, etc. I've already met someone who named their daughter Elliott.
My other two are Sean (boy) and Erin (girl), so I think that Elliott is a good mix.

for our daughter. It's my husbands first name, although he always goes by his middle name. I wanted to name her Jaymes Olivia but my husband preferred Elliott Gracean.
I think James is a beautiful girls name.

I was thinking Grace Ann (my middle name is Anne) but most people pronounce it as "Grayson" which I also like.
I probably should have spelled it Graceann if I wanted to be more clear, but I like it either way.
