Milk?

Does breast milk make your baby constipated as regular formula does? I know breast milk is better but I dont think my boobs would be able to handle all that pain! So I will probably bottle feed, but I dont want my baby to be constipated all of the time.

Every baby is different, all bowels are different. But I breast fed 4 kids and none were constipated. And many times if formula is making them constipated they might be on the wrong kind, or there is too much iron in the formula. As far as tender breasts, you can get shields for them and it does get better in time.

I just got done watching pregnancy for dummies on DHC and the said that usually breastfed babies arent constipated I also read that in what to expect... when I was preggo. But I need to tell you that Breast feeding doesnt hurt at all in fact my cousin who bottle feed first time around and breastfeed second time around told me that it hurts when you dont breastfeed because when your milk comes in and have no place to go (cus your not nursing) really backs up and hurts really bad for a few of days. If you having any questions on breastfeeding you can private message me. And I will help

formula plugs them up more as it is thicker and harder to digest. breastfeeding doesnt hurt usually unless you go too long without feeding and get all backed up. it doesnt hurt to feed them, unless they bite you once they have teeth.

O.k. Thanks for the helpful information! My sister in law was talking about how her boobs felt like rocks after she had her baby. I guess thats because she didnt breast feed, but I think its worth a try, it is the best for them. I have just heard so many horror stories about it but hey, I might surprise myself and be able to do it! Does anyone know how long you have to wait before you can pump?

I was pumping the second week, but it was because I was making too much milk and had become engorged. Which is something every pregnant woman should know if she plans to breastfeed-if you ever gets lumps in your breast and it feels engorged, gently massage them while the baby is nursing or while you are pumping and it will solve the problem.
