Baby Boy Clothes
By happy2bme 2 Months, 4 Weeks Ago
I was just wondering what your opinion is on dressing a baby boy. There are 2 different ways to dress a baby boy:
1. the baby look-baby blues, smocked outfits, cute onsies, etc.
and
2. the big boy look-khakis, jeans, polo shirts, etc.

I really did both with my son. When he was a little baby, I dressed him like a baby, but we have friends who never wanted their baby boy looking like a baby and had him in polo shirts and jeans from the start. And alot of times daddies have alot to do with this, too.

I was just curious as to what everyone else's opinion is on this.

I don't like jeans on babies. I don't know why but they seem so uncomfortable to me (for a tiny baby). I think I prefer cute onesies, sweaters, etc. I really like classy or vintage looking clothes. My ideal of baby clothes are these sold by fine children clothier Flora and Henri - they are perfect, however, too expensive - dammit!!!

I agree, I don't like jeans on babies. They do look uncomfortable, and only one time I put jean overalls on my son when he was 2 months old. I took him to church, and everyone was talking about how big he looked. I didn't like that-I wanted my baby to be a baby while he was and there was plenty of time for him to dress and look like a big boy later!

Yes, I agree with these other ladies, babies, to me, should be dressed comfortabley, with soft stretch fabrics. I find jeans to hard, harsh, misfitting for their tiny legs, plus, when diapering, kinds difficult. Let an infant, enjoy being an infant. Soft one pieces with booties, and swaddling blankies. Don't forget the head dress - bonnet for girls, caplet for boys - ears need to be covered in my heritage. Bonnets help ears grow towards head, helps avoid elephant ears.

I love baby, baby clothes when they are tiny, but I'm with you, I love the khakis and polo shirts! Thats how I would dress my little boy, to match his daddy! LOL! I also like the blue jeaned bibbed ovreralls. I always said if we have a boy we are going to get his pictures made in nothing but the jean overalls. and he will be bare foot with a white background. And for the girl, she would wear a little jean skirt, with a cute little top.
