My Mom and my Uncle were 19 years apart (my uncle was an oops). My Brother and I are 6 years apart (I was an oops). My husband and I are planning to try for our second child when our first is 3. That should make them aproximately 4 years apart. Our logic being, our first child will be a little more self sufficient, she will also be starting school witch will give us alone time with the second, and we will only have one child in college at a time (unless they go for their masters degrees). I also can't imaging have two childeren in diapers at the same time. That is just to much for me to handle.

MY 2 KIDS R 16 MONTHS APART! I THINK WHEN U FEEL UR READY 2 HAVE MORE IS THE BEST WAY 2 JUDGE WHEN IS BEST EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. WE WANTED OURS CLOSE 2GETHER SO IT WORKED WELL 4 US I'M PREGNANT WITH BUB NUMBER 3 NOW SO WHEN HE ARRIVES MY OLDEST WILL B 6 AND 4! THATS A BIG AGE GAP 2 ME LOL!!!

i think that you could wait till you son is 10 & if you have another boy they will bond really well or if you just have two kids they would bond really well but thats just what ive noticed from my friends & my own family we have 8 kids here & the biggest age gap was 18 almost 19 years & im number 4 but im not close to a lot of my siblings because i only have 2 sisters & one is 8 years older & one is 8 years younger so i was never really able to get close to my older sister & my younger is 6 (& is actually doing jumping jacks in front of me right now lol) & i am fairly close with one of my older brothers now hes only 21 months older than me & as we both get older we are becoming closer & my two youngest brothers are 360 days apart exactly so they are very very close but thats how i see it

to tell ya the truth, it is completely a personal choice of what you can handle. i have known some people whos kid isn't even a year old yet when they're popping out another and for me personally is crazy (but for me). but at the other end when your kid has already started school i think it's too far apart (once again ONLY a personal choice). my sister and i are 3 years apart and we loved it, we were close enough were we always had each other and could enjoy doing stuff together, but we were far enough apart where we could have our own lives and not always breathing down each others back. Me personally feel that 2 - 4 years difference is perfect. my little girl will be 3.5 years when our second is born and i couldn't be more perfect. the one thing i wanted before i had another was for her to be potty trained and she is now completely potty trained (day and night) so i won't have to be buying double diapers. so all in all you just have to sit and decide for yourself and yourself only (and the hubby of course), many different people have different decisions on when to have a second or third and so on. me it was when my daughter was potty trained ... so good luck with whatever you decide.

My first two children were 17 months apart and that was very hard.

I had a girl friend whose sister was 2 1/2 years younger than her and they got along great. My sister was four years ounger than me and we didn't get along at all.

So when I had my third child I decided to make 2 1/2 years apart from the second one and it was wonderful. If I had to do it again I would make at lease 2 1/2 years apart from each other. It worked the best for myself and our family.
