Re:Labor: Vaginal, C-section or Water? By puck 2 Months Ago with my first it was a vaginal with demerol. the dem did nothing, it hurt, but i healed up pretty quick and was back to norm. she was 2lbs9oz
my second was vaginal with no drugs (not by choice-long story). it wasnt too bad but he was teeny tiny. my third was 9lbs 5oz. vaginal, with morphine. 2 weeks later i was back to normal. i am glad i didnt have to go the c-section route. my sister had her 2nd by section 3 days before i had my 3rd, and i definetly had the quicker healing time.

Re:Labor: Vaginal, C-section or Water? By daniklic 2 Months Ago This is also my first baby. But I know I will choose drug-free vaginal delivery, because my hospital doesn't offer water birth, and I don't plan on C-section unless it is very necessary.
I would, personally suggest the same to everyone too. Please don't choose C-section just because you don't want pain. Vaginal birth is definitely healthier for both you and the baby, unless your doctors suggest you to accept C-section due to complication. I have recently read some news about the new birth trend in China. Many mothers choose C-section because they want their babies to be born on specific dates and even time. We, Chinese, believe that your birth dates determine your life pattern. Good birth dates mean you get a smoother and happier life. There are also many mothers choose C-section to avoid labor pain. What turns out is that: many children from C-section births have developed mobility issues, such as not being able to balance themselves, lack of spatial senses, etc. It is because their heads did not experience their mothers' natural birth track pressure, and they did not get to experience the natural physical laws at births. I am definitely not saying it will happen to all C-section babies, my boyfriend and his brother were C-section births, and they are completely fine. However, to avoid that issue, natural vaginal births are better, in my book. But if you can have water birth, I think it will be nice too. Again, this is your decision, you should decide for your own best benefits.

Re:Labor: Vaginal, C-section or Water? By 3littleangels4 2 Months Ago I was in labor with my daughter in 07 and didnt dilate at al after 37 hours of induced labor. I had a c-section. the spinal block (needle in your back) hurts but not to the point of screaming..Im now due again in march and will have another planned c-section.I didnt feel anything and got to hold the baby right away..it hurt a few days afterwards of course-but i think anyway you deliver-youll feel it afterwards. =) the difference in a epidural and a spinal is they leave the epidural in your back which can shift and move and stop working.the spinal shoots meds in but no needles remain in your back so its safer that way.I didnt have headches from it at all.

Re:Labor: Vaginal, C-section or Water? By 3littleangels4 2 Months Ago um, c-section babies are JUST as smart as vaginal babies BY THE WAY.. my daughter was saying mama at 6 months, walked at 9 and counts to ten at 19 months. =) shes brilliant and stubborn and didnt want out of her nice warm womb =) It doesnt matter HOW a baby enters the world and ANY smart person will tell you that,it just matters they enter it safely =)

Re:Labor: Vaginal, C-section or Water? By daniklic 2 Months Ago 3littleangels4, I am sorry if you feel offended. But if you read my post carefully, you will see that I did not say or suggest that C-section babies are not as smart as VB babies.
What I mentioned was some facts I got from a news paper I read. And it is about some C-section babies have developed mobility issues, which is related to their body mobile control. It has NOTHING to do with whether they are being smart or not. Those are treatable issues, and the kids are just as smart and good as others. And not all C-section babies have it (I mentioned this as well in my original post). I did not edit my original post, so you can go back and check. If anyone find what I said in my previous post offensive, I am really sorry about it. But I have no intention to insult anyone.
